Karen Poon

Born and raised in the Bay Area! I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Art and minored in Sustainable Design in Landscape Architecture. Soon after I began working in graphic design. I soon began to miss the strategic challenge of layering multiple physical systems with human behaviors to create integrated solutions from my design classes in college. This eventually lead me to begin my journey into product and UX design. Besides letting me get back into the highly strategic side of design it also combined some of my other interests like visual design, psychology, interactivity, and industrial design.

In the future I look forward to working on more projects that create positive impacts in industries such as healthcare or sustainability. I am also excited about expanding my horizons and continuing my growth in product design, UX, and visual design.

My hobbies include art, plein air painting, and Gongfu style tea brewing. I recently started playing mahjong and am proficient in Hong Kong style, play to win games. I have traveled widely and love a good book.
